| At 1659 hours today, Station 52 was dispatched to assist Station 78 (Upper Salford) with a "Trash/Dumpster Fire" in the 1000 block of Schwenksville Road. Subsequent information indicated a farmer who reported a hay baler caught fire and began extending to surrounding brush. Chief 52 arrived first confirming the report. Field 52 arrived, placed a booster line in service containing the fire spread. Engine 52, along with Engine 78's crew placed an additional hand-line in service to extinguish the fire inside the baler. Companies remained on scene completing overhaul. Engine, Field, and Chief 52 were in service for a total of one hour.
Earlier in the day, Stations 52 and 78 were dispatched to the Unit Block of Main Street, Schwenksville Borough, for an Electrical Fire Outside. PECO was already on location to handle the incident, and the assignment was made available. |
