| At 1846 hours, Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026, Station 52 and automatic aid companies were dispatched to the unit block of 2nd Ave, Lower Frederick Township, for a dwelling fire. Initial caller reports indicated smoke throughout the home, possibly from the basement. Ladder and Chief 52 (already staffed, clearing a company detail) responded promptly after dispatch. Chief 52 arrived on location reporting smoke showing from a single-family residence, subsequently transmitting the Working Fire Dispatch. Ladder 52 arrived first, assumed the first-due engine assignment, advancing an attack line and securing their own water supply. The crew confirmed fire in the basement and extinguished the same. Engine 52 arrived to backfill the first-due truck assignment, completing primary searches of the residence, throwing ladders for egress, and opening up for fire extension. Engine companies from mutual aid companies advanced additional attack lines throughout the home. Harleysville Community Fire Company's Ladder 89 arrived as the second-due-truck, throwing additional egress ladders, assisting with searching for extension, and eventually completing overhaul and ventilation. Chief 52 held the command for the duration of the incident. Plymouth Community Ambulance Association stood by during the incident. We extend our thanks to our mutual aid partners for their assistance Tuesday Evening. Prompt response and efficient operations led to a successful outcome. The fire is under investigation by the Lower Frederick Township Fire Marshal, along with regional partners. Moyer's Services also responded to secure the dwelling. There were no injuries to any civilians or responders. In total, 17 Lower Frederick responders worked alongside our regional partners to contain this fire. Mutual aid companies were released, with final crews clearing the scene just after 9pm. While still in station restoring apparatus and equipment to service, Station 52 was dispatched to assist Medic 308 on a medical emergency. The fire company was made available shortly after arrival. |
