Controlled Burning in Lower Frederick Township

Station 52 was dispatched to "Smoke in the area" today. A resident was burning some yard waste and did have a permit.

Here are some reminders about a controlled burn.

1. Burning shall be of leaves, tree limbs and branches, brush, weeds, and grasses only.
You may have only ONE burn area. (Control bum area is 5 feet x 5 feet)
2. Burning must be done between sunrise and sunset, with little or no wind.
3. You must have adequate supply of water and other equipment to maintain control of the fire.
4. It is your responsibility to stay with the fire at all times and assume all liability in regards to setting of fires.
5. All Public Officials of Lower Frederick Township are indemnified from any damage, the Permit Holder is responsible.
6. All fires are to be a minimum of 50 feet from all buildings and at least 25 feet from property lines.
7. You must call Montgomery County Radio Room before start of BURNING at 610-287-6911
